Open Day!….

This Sunday 7th October is the last of our scheduled openings this year.  As usual you can have a look around between 1.30 and 5.30pm.

Race Night!

Our next event is the ‘Race Night’ on Saturday 17th November at the Day centre.  It’s a fun evening with a chance to win a little extra cash for Christmas!  Tickets are £10 per person which includes a Fish n Chips or Chicken supper.  They’re available from Richard Thomas or Molly Clark.  Bring your own drinks and glasses.

Santa will also be visiting the Windmill again this year on Saturday 15th December…  more about that soon.

Windmill Fete….

… Bank Holiday Monday 27th August.

Very similar to last year… and hopefully just as sunny!  There will be extra things to do on the Rec’ like last year with the same barrel train ride running between the Windmill and the ‘Rec and the same £3 hand stamp for unlimited goes on the inflatables.

The Windmill will be open as usual on the first Sunday afternoon of the month… 5th August.

Fete 27th August

Next Open Days….

… are this weekend!  Sunday 27th and Bank Holiday Monday 28th of May as well as on the following weekend, Sunday 3rd June.

As usual the Mill will be open to visitors from 1.30pm antil 5.30pm.

The photo below is of a very fine working model of a Post Mill that has been generously loaned to the Windmill by Hugh Unwin .  It has already been much admired by some visiting school groups and contributed enormously to their understanding of how a windmill works…  come and see for yourself!

It’s nearly Spring…!

With the worst of the cold weather now behind us it’s time to open up the windmill for the coming season.  Our first opening is on Easter Weekend.

Easter Sunday 1st April and Easter Monday 2nd April. 1.30 -5.30pm

The Millers AGM is on 9th March at 8pm in the Day centre.  The Usual AGM business will be folowed by a quiz and then a short talk given by Millwright Paul Kemp.

…Visit Father Christmas at the Windmill on 2nd December from 12-5pm.  Twisto!  A balloon artist and magician who you may remember seeing at the Fete this summer,  will also be there to entertain the children and refreshments will be available.

£4 per child

The Mill will be open for tours too… Free of charge for accompanying adults.

Children can dress up if they like!  There will be a prize for the best fancy Dress costumes at 4pm.

At the Day Centre on  Wednesday 22nd November 10am – noon
Entry is £2.50 and includes some refreshments.  Bric-a-Brac, cake stall, mince pies and Mill Goods will be available.

The Mill will next be open to visitors on Sunday 27th August from 1.30 – 5.30pm

At the end of the month on Bank Holiday Monday the annual Windmill Fete will take place at the Mill.  This year we also have some extra attractions on the Recreation Ground.

July Open Day and News…

Sunday July 2nd is the next open day at the usual time of 1.30 – 5.30pm.

The next event is an Afternoon Tea at the Mill hosted by the Millers on Wednesday 26th July from 2pm.  Cream tea, or a drink and a cake for £2.50

The 28th August may seem far away, but preparations are well underway for our annual village occasion that is the Windmill Fete .  Please keep a space free in your Bank Holiday Monday schedule and join us to enjoy all the usual attractions, this year enhanced by some added children’s activities on the Rec.
The Fete wlll open an hour earlier and so run from 1pm to 5pm.

The pre fete meeting takes place at the Mill on Tuesday 11th July at 7.30pm where arrangements will be finalised.  If you’d like to help out, have an burning desire to run a stall, or are just curious, please come along.

Maintenance….  is happening during July.  Internal and external painting!
